Pinoy Card Game · Real Money
Tongits is not just a game — it is a Filipino tradition. PAL 777 brings the table to your phone so you can play anytime, against real opponents, for real pesos. Handa ka na ba?
About the Game
Whether it was played on a flattened cardboard box in the barangay, on the kitchen table after Sunday lunch, or during the slow hours of an overnight shift — almost every Filipino has a Tongits story. The game is woven into the everyday fabric of Philippine life in a way that few other card games anywhere in the world can claim. PAL 777 honours that tradition by bringing Tongits online with the same feel you know, but with real cash at stake and players from all over the country at the table.
Tongits is a three-player rummy-style game played with a standard 52-card deck. The objective is to reduce the total value of unmatched cards in your hand to as low as possible — ideally to zero, which is called a Tongits win. You do this by forming melds: sets of three or more cards of the same rank, or sequences of three or more consecutive cards of the same suit. On each turn, you draw a card from the central pile and discard one, trying to build melds while keeping your unmatched card points as low as possible.
What makes Tongits so compelling is the mix of strategy and psychology. You are not just building your own hand — you are watching what your opponents pick up and discard, reading their intentions, and deciding when to challenge or when to hold back. The game rewards patience, card counting, and the ability to stay calm when your hand is bad. These are skills that develop naturally the more you play.
At PAL 777, Tongits is available around the clock with real Filipino players at every table. Whether you want to play for ₱20 stakes on a lazy afternoon or join a ₱500 table on a weekend night, there is always a seat waiting. PAL 777 also runs daily Tongits tournaments with prize pools that can reach ₱50,000 — the kind of competition that brings out the best in seasoned players.

Beginner Tip
Always watch the discard pile in early rounds to figure out what suits and ranks your opponents are building. If two players are both collecting sevens, your chance of completing a Set of sevens drops fast — adjust your strategy early before you are stuck with high unmatched cards.
Game Rules
Simple to learn, takes years to master. Here is everything you need to know to sit down at a PAL 777 Tongits table today.
The dealer gets 13 cards; the other two players get 12 each. Remaining cards form the central draw pile. The dealer plays first, drawing a card from the pile.
Draw one card from the top of the central pile. You may then lay down any valid melds (Sets or Sequences) or add to existing melds on the table. Discard one card to end your turn.
A Set is three or more cards of the same rank (e.g., three 7s). A Sequence is three or more consecutive cards of the same suit (e.g., 4–5–6 of Spades). Melds are placed face-up on the table.
You can extend any existing meld on the table — including your opponents' melds — by adding valid cards. This is called sapaw and is a key tactical move to get rid of high-value unmatched cards.
If you get rid of all your cards — either by melding them all or discarding your last card — you call Tongits and win the pot immediately. This is the best possible outcome in the game.
Any player can call Fight after laying at least one meld, forcing all players to reveal their remaining cards. The player with the lowest total unmatched points wins. If the draw pile runs out, the hand ends in a Draw — same resolution.
Scoring
Know your card values so you can keep your unmatched point total as low as possible every round.

|---|---|---|
| Ace (A) | 1 point | Lowest card — always useful |
| 2 – 9 | Face value | 2 = 2 pts, 9 = 9 pts |
| 10 | 10 points | High — discard early if unmatched |
| Jack (J) | 10 points | Same as 10 |
| Queen (Q) | 10 points | Face cards are expensive unmatched |
| King (K) | 10 points | Highest cost if left in hand |
| Win Type | How It Happens | Payout |
|---|---|---|
| Tongits | Empty your entire hand | Win full pot |
| Fight Win | Lowest unmatched points after challenge | Win full pot |
| Draw Win | Lowest points when draw pile runs out | Win full pot |

Strategy Corner
Good Tongits players are not just lucky — they are observant. The most important habit to develop is watching the discard pile carefully from the very first card. When a player discards two Queens in a row, you know they are not building a Set of Queens. That information is free, and it is available every round.
Managing face cards is another critical skill. Jacks, Queens, Kings, and Tens are all worth 10 points each, which means holding just three unmatched face cards puts you at 30 unmatched points. Skilled players get rid of isolated face cards early, especially in the first five rounds when the discard pile is thin and others are less likely to pick them up for sapaw.
Knowing when to call Fight is equally important. If you have a meld on the table and your remaining cards add up to 8–12 points, calling Fight is often correct — especially if you have been watching your opponents closely and believe they are sitting on higher unmatched counts. Waiting too long gives opponents more time to improve their hands.
At PAL 777, the practice tables are an underused resource. Spending even an hour on free practice with different opening strategies will make you a significantly better player by the time you sit down at real-money tables. Treat it like warm-up shots before a game — walang saysay ang pagmamadali kapag may libreng paraan para matuto.
Tongits Culture
In the Philippines, Tongits is social currency. It is one of those games that crosses all demographic lines — played by tricycle drivers on their break, by office workers during slow afternoons, by families during reunions, and by neighbourhood barkadas on weekend evenings. The game has a unique Filipino DNA: it is competitive enough to keep everyone engaged but relaxed enough to allow conversation and laughter throughout.
PAL 777's decision to feature Tongits so prominently is a direct reflection of that cultural reality. For many Filipino players, choosing PAL 777 for Tongits is not just about convenience — it is about having a platform that genuinely understands the game and treats it with the same seriousness that players themselves give it. The interface, the table rules, and even the in-game chat feature are all built with the Filipino Tongits experience in mind.
Online Tongits also solves a real-life problem: finding three people available at the same time is not always easy. With PAL 777, a table fills up in seconds at any hour. The spirit of the game — the reading of opponents, the tactical discards, the perfectly timed Fight call — is all fully intact. It is your favourite pastime, upgraded.
Player Reviews
"Dati kaming naglalaro ng Tongits sa kapitbahay every Friday. Ngayon kahit saan ako naroroon, may laro na palagi sa PAL 777. Yung interface ay madaling gamitin at ang bilis ng GCash withdrawal. Nanalo ako ng ₱4,200 sa isang tournament last month. Sobrang sulit!"
"I tried a few Tongits apps before PAL 777 and most of them were full of bots. Here, every opponent feels real — the timing of their picks, the unpredictability of their discards. The competition is genuine. I have learned so much just from playing against better players on this platform."
"Ang gusto ko sa PAL 777 Tongits ay yung practice mode — nag-aral muna ako ng dalawang araw bago sumali sa real money tables. Nung handa na, nanalo agad ng ₱1,800 sa unang gabi. Hindi kailangang mag-alinlangan — maganda ang sistema nila at ligtas ang pera mo."
